Sony MHC-V90DW Karaoke Party Speaker

Introduction

Allow me to introduce you to the Sony MHC-V90DW, an awe-inspiring embodiment of power, performance, and party! Standing at a staggering 1.7 meters tall, this audio marvel is more than just a speaker system, it's an experience. An immersive, captivating, and absolutely thrilling adventure in sound that not only fills the room but fills your soul.

Why is it interesting, you ask? Well, where do I begin? The Sony MHC-V90DW, part of the MUTEKI line, is a veritable concert stage inside your home. It's packed with an array of functions including CD, DVD, USB, FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and even a home network DLNA for you to stream music directly. It also integrates seamlessly with music services for an uninterrupted musical journey.

But it doesn't stop there. The Sony MHC-V90DW is not just about the sound, it's about the spectacle. With built-in party lights, speaker lights, and a power illuminator, this system turns your living room into a nightclub. It’s a sound system that doesn't just play music, it performs it.

As for karaoke enthusiasts, rejoice! The MHC-V90DW caters to you with key controls, vocal faders, echo effects, and even a scoring system. And with the convenience features like gesture control, a sleep timer, and touch keys, this beast of a system is surprisingly easy to tame.

Now, let's talk about the philosophy of MUTEKI. MUTEKI, pronounced "mu-te-ki", means "unbeatable" or "invincible" in Japanese. And that's precisely what the Sony MUTEKI line aims to be - an unbeatable, invincible audio experience. The philosophy of MUTEKI is about more than just loud sound, it's about powerful, clear, and immersive audio that transforms your relationship with music. It's about creating a system so compelling, so engaging, that you can't help but lose yourself in the sound.

So if you're an audiophile, a music lover, or just someone who loves a good party, the Sony MHC-V90DW is more than a sound system, it's an experience. It's the embodiment of the MUTEKI philosophy – unbeatable, invincible, and absolutely captivating1.

Commodore C64 Karaoke

We talk around the circle about what we would do if we were given this monster tower of sonic destruction. The discussion invariably turned to Karaoke. And what form of Karaoke could be more fun than using the amazing C64 SID synthesizer to sing the latest tune.

After unpacking the Sony MHC-V90DW in our retro-computing den, we all agreed that we would connect our Commodore C64 to the display, plug in the audio connectors to the SID synthesizer, and the ... wait for it ... launch the Funky International Singalong Tournament. Imaging combining Sony's MegaBass and The Way of the Exploding Ears Karaoke! That is just unbelievable.

Stay with us on this. You can use the joystick to move down the menu to Hotel California, manually select Sony MegaBass, click fire and let the tunes start. So come on Sony, are you in?

Alternatives to the Sony MHC-V90DW

Market competition for tower party speakers is growing. There are many new alternatives to the Sony MHC-V90DW. The JBL range of party speakers also meet my retro-gaming requirements. Like the Sony range, the JBL party speaker range comes in increasing sizes and prices to suit. The JBL speakers look like oversized Bluetooth portable speakers on suzer-sized steroids. I can imagine playing my Commodore 64 SID music collection over these party speakers as well. This is a great time to expand your music playing capability and blast the neighbor's ears.
